Okay 2013...this is my year.

Like every year I have promised myself this will be the year to get in shape.

This year I committed to this cause.  I need to get happy, healthy and change my life.

My eating habits are not my main problem. I eat a pretty balanced diet. My water intake is mega low and my activity is just kinda bland.  This will be what I try to change the most.

I just bought a new smartphone and have new workout pants in the mail and have signed up for GymPact.  This will give me the incentive to get my ass to the gym and work out.  I need to soon get a new pair of shoes and sign up for the monument 10k.

I know I can do this.  I just need to WANT to do this.

wahh.wahhh....

Alright, gympact starts on Monday and I signed up for 4 days at 5bucks a missed gym appointment.  Jason also just started working at the gym- so this will be more incentive to get my butt to the gym to work out.

SIIIGH.

I can do this.  I know I can!

About 6 weeks later...

Phew!  My swelling has finally gone all the way down on my left foot, a little puffy on the ankle, but I think that next week I'm going to bring my running stuff back to work to start my routine back up.  Even though I've gotten quite comfotable taking my lunch breaks to eat lunch and mess around on the computer- I really miss getting sweaty and feeling good about myself.

I need to save up and purchase a new pair of shoes.  I really enjoy the 1400's by New Balance in a bright blue color...but they're like 100 bucks.  Mental note- look on Amazon.  Then, I can leave those shoes here or even wear them all day to be prepared to get back in the gym.

I'm ready to get back to normal and start jogging again!

almost two weeks later.

Two weeks tomorrow from falling smack on my face during the race.  My foot has 90% returned to it's shape and color.  I still have some tenderness on the sides of my foot, so sitting cross legged hurts still (especially with a child sitting in my lap).  But biking is no longer a problem and even walking up and down stairs are becoming painless.  SPRAINING YOUR ANKLE REALLY SUCKS.

Jason was a wonderful boyfriend yesterday and took me to the JCC gym to try to show me around some of the equipment that they had there.  It was the first time I put on my shoes since the fall and my left one still was really swollen and looked terrible in my shoe.  I let it get into my head and it really bothered me.  So as I left the bathroom where I changed to go into the gym to meet Jason, I was nervous because of how it looked.  And as a result entered in a terrible mood and didn't want to participate in any of the workouts he wanted to try.  So we just stay for like 5 minutes and left.  I acted terrible, but I was just uncomfortable and upset still over my foot.

I've been struggling with a woman at work and have really just wanted to go to the gym, hop on the treadmill and watch the real housewives drama unfold on my lunch hour to help detach from the classroom.  It's been two weeks and I actually miss doing it.  That's a good sign...right?!  right!

Speaking of work, I wore my under armor shoes today at work and actually it really helped, maybe I should have listened to the doctor at patient first when they said where support.  Aren't my rainbows with arch support enough?  I hate the look of my jeans and tennis shoes- yuck!

So, my plan is to take another week off and then start slowly going back during my lunch break to start walking and then move into an incline walk and then ease back into the jogging I need to do.  I think I need to invest in a new pair of shoes, too.  That might have been part of the issue two weeks ago.  Or just me being silly.

HURRAY FOR THE WEEKEND!

5 songs that I can't get out of my head.

1. Adele- Rumor Has It
2. Good Morning to you and you and you

Okay...since injury- getting back on the horse.

Okay, so went to doctor to get checked out and all is okay.  Just a bad sprain.  So rest and more ibprofen and just overall taking it easy.  Took a 1/2 week off and it has helped a lot.  and i mean A LOT!

Jason and I were talking the other day while doing laundry- and we decided that he is going to help me reach my goal of running 5 miles comfortably.  He suggested making a chart and even offered to help motivate me with doing runs along with me.  That way I'll stay on track.  Which is my biggest fault.  I get so distracted and lazy if I'm not being held accountable by anyone else.

5 things that I love to smell.
1. clean laundryh
2. gasoline
3. fresh cut flowers
4. bacon
5. jason's smell

starting this mess back up again.

Okay so, I really injured my foot after my first ever trail run.  I will admit I was ill prepared for what to expect, but I didn't think that I would only last 30 seconds until I spilled out severely injuring my left ankle.  GAH!  Now it's been almost a week and it's less swollen but a whole array of colors from dark purple to light pink all around my ankle mixed with several dark spot on both my shins...GAH AGAIN!

I've taken a break, but before I did I was up to doing a regular 2 miles on my lunchbreak at work and was hoping to get to being comfortable with 5.  That's my goal.  Being able to comfortably go out and jog 5 miles.  I will make it happen, it will just take a longer time now that I'm laid up for a bit.  (I will be traveling to the doctor tomorrow to get it looked at and just make sure it's healing alright).

I took Monday off from work this week and made it through a day and a half before coming home and taking thursday and friday off.  Running around after children and patting their backs to sleep wasn't gelling well with the healing of my shins and ankle.

5 things to be grateful for.
1. Adele
2.Beckie and Oliver heading through town today and stopping for lunch.
3. Jason's birthday coming up at the end of the month!
4. a wonderful new job at the jcc doing great work with great people
5. not breaking my foot.
