everyone is registered for the race in march. that is really exciting!!! i'm so excited to be going on another road trip with m,p,c,and now special k. it's girl's bday on the 13th which will make things extra crazy the night before the race- maybe we'll just go out the night before the night before the race so that we can be completely recovered by the time of the race.
i need to purchase a pair of running tights since it's still going to be so chilly up there in march. i've been looking at all different pairs online, and i'm not sure if i want a full length or a 3/4 length. i guess i may just get one of each, 'cause you can never have too many.
which reminds me that i need to go through and purge all my unnecessary clothes that i have. and i have plenty. i may start that tomorrow. since r is coming on tuesday before he leaves for san fran and i need to clean my room anyway. and move my mattress back downstairs so that he has something to sleep on. i'm watching the kids on tuesday night so it will be a party with r there too. then i'll be dropping him off at the airport in the afternoon on wednesday and then picking j up on thursday, which will be good since i won't get to see her while she's here.
next weekend i'm going to go to visit l and then meet w. i'm nervous and excited all at one time. i think everything will go well, which makes me really nervous. i'm terrified about telling s and having the reality of me really leaving sink in. i also need to figure out what i'm going to do if this doesn't work out.

death cab makes me happy.
so started jogging again. and did a bunch of crunches on the ball on monday and my abs are still sore- it's a good sore, but sore nonetheless. i especially notice it when i laugh- which lucky for me, is quite often!
girl has made me realize that i need to get my rear in gear 'cause in about a month will be trekking up to boston with a car load of great people to go and jog around for some beer. that sounds like a great time! i really can't wait. though it also makes me realize that in less than a month i will be 26. GOOD GOD! it makes me really anxious thinking about turning 30. ha, i don't like it at all.
Girl will be turning 25 when we're up in boston and we will be getting wasted to celebrate! that will be such a good time.
in 2 weeks i will be going to snow shoe to interview for a position in asheville, nc- which i really feel quite confident about. that will be my first time skiing and i hope i don't make an ass out of myself. but really what fun! i'm really nervous and excited and scared. scared really that i'm going to love this family and move 6 hours away from everything and start over again. which is exciting AND scary all together.
today i learned a lot of silly news that all really made me laugh. and it's sad that i laugh at other people- but man, seriously what a freakin' motivator for real. seeing other people being dumb and stupid just make me want to better myself that much more!
5 things i want to do this weekend while i'm snowed in:

hey-oh.
okay getting completely back in the saddle.
registered for 5k race in boston with girl c, special k, m, p, bear, bear's gf, and j. it is girl c's birthday weekend too- which will be fucking amazing i can't wait!
one thing off my resolution list. check!
also i had a recharge today for my soul. going down to richmond for brunch with boss c, girl c, and a. i talked to them about asheville, nc and they were all filled with awesome advice. it doesn't make the decision any easier, but getting their input was spectacular. i love and value them a lot, so it was good to hear what they had to say.

this.is.day.four.
oh man, day 4 half-way through!!!
i can't believe i made it this far to be completely honest. i really thought i was going to cave on day two when B and i went to Ikea and I smelled the cinnamon rolls. My stomach started GROWLING like i hadn't felt before. i miss food.
on saturday i am going to do the SWF for the first time. i've been way too intimidated to do it yet. which is alright, since i've been taking the tea instead. i decided to do it saturday and probably sunday since it'll be the weekend and i can sleep in and do it when i wake up- rather than waking up at 445/5 to get it through with before work. i just can't do it.
i have really missed out on doing a lot of things this week due to my lack of eating which is kinda sad/interesting. C's birthday dinner, grandpa's cake he made w/ coffee, drinks and dinner with T who was in town, red wine yoga with D, make-up dinner with S, multiple beers i could've drank- makes me more aware but really sad i missed out on these things, i HATE saying no to going out and doing something. but it was a bit empowering as well. i can say no.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
yes. i like yes more.
really i just keep telling myself that it's only for 7 days, and everything will still exist afterwards to enjoy! and my new healthy insides will enjoy it, dammit.
5 nothings...i have no theme today. :(

day two- check.
day two done.
not as hard as yesterday, i made it with limes today. i just keep thinking about how much better i'm going to feel. and really now it's just a stupid personal challenge that needs to be fulfilled.
i have noticed though that there are a SHIT ton of food commercials on tv. and in tv shows...and even in kids shows...and in people's status messages on facebook. FOOD (mostly crap) IS EVERYWHERE!
day 3 is the hump...i think i can...i think i can...i think i can...
5 foods that i really want to break fast with:

day one of the hardest thing of my life.
So, I've decided to start the master cleanse.
So far i'm about 1/2 through day 1 out of 10.
S just made lunch, it's a little bit painful to stay in this room with her. ha. the lemonade mixture isn't as bad as i thought it would be, and i kinda enjoy the kick of the cayenne pepper. i like spice a lot so that's good for me! and i'm kinda excited to try it with limes next batch. i feel like it will be oddly reminiscent of mexico- limes and spice. (a little wrong)
i went out with a bang last night, i had curry for dinner- which was a wonderful "last meal". and this weekend i got way too drunk at special k's party and so i had my last hurrah with drinking for a while, and i even had cake. so i feel like i've been able to start this the right way!
after i complete it my goals are:
at special k's party i met a dude, who had told me about doing the master cleanse. and he said he was vegan already so it really wasn't that effective with him, and then he said "oh you'll have a much better reaction i'm sure!" which made me a bit more excited. ha- it grosses me out and really intrigues me thinking about all the crap that will come out.
ha!

after i complete it my goals are:
- never eat fast food again (i think i only eat it once every 6 months as it is, so that is the easiest one to check off!)
- enjoy naked flavors of foods
- ease my knee pain
- start getting more serious with this running plan
- stay away from pharmaceuticals more than i already do.
- drink less caffeine, coffee is my weak spot. i just love it so much.

interesting thoughts.
"Running is a kind of investment in yourself"
I really enjoy this quote, taken my from Runners World Quote of the Day email from today.
last night i was talking to AAA, and while we were at the bar eating edamame and black bean dip with our light beers, she brought up the master cleanse. about how her new years resolution was to change into a more healthy person in general. so she assured me she's not becoming a full blown out vegetarian, but she's becoming a lot more aware of how/where the meat she eats is being treated/coming from. and how T is worried about her turning full blown out hippie on him! HA, but she started talking to me about the master cleanse, and how the more she reads about it the more interesting it becomes. not as a weight loss diet, but more of a way of starting fresh and new and getting all the toxins out of your body so that she could start this new lifestyle on a clean slate, so to speak.
So, today i started looking up this "fad diet" and it's actually pretty interesting. I remember a couple years ago E did it, which great success. he was becoming vegan, and so he stuck to it for a full 14 days and then started eating and living vegan. (didn't last, and i'm sure there was a girl as motivation) I remember when he was doing the salt water flushes it was disgusting!!! but if he could do it, i could do it.
i'm thinking i may try. this weekend is special k's birthday party and so i might just wall out and then come back and detox. especially since i need to get on the ball about picking up running again, i feel this would just be a great way to physically feel like i'm starting this whole lifestyle right!
also, the run for beer social club is running in the monument 10k. they're starting their training soon. i wish i had a run for beer social club in northern virginia. :(

back to normal-ish.
yesterday i woke up promptly at 445 am to head over to jazzercise. totally froze my butt off getting there, but was very proud i did it. even if about 1/2 through the next to last song i just about died. i needed more sleep than i got- and should've been drinking more water the night before, too. my b yo. but lesson totally learned!
last night totally skipped zumba to go out to dinner and beer. well worth skipping.
tomorrow will be another 5am morning. i need to push myself to get back in the habit of doing it. i really wish that it wasn't so lung-busting cold outside so i could go and run. i need to blow off a bunch of steam and that's the best way i found to do so. blast some god awful pop music and just run till i feel like i'm going to puke.
one of my favorite runs happened this fall at the battlefield. i went running just after a long stretch of rain, so it was empty and the trails were a bit muddy. it was the first time taking my new shoes out to get dirty- which i think was the most exciting part. but i had been going through a bunch of stupid drama shit with people and just blasted death cab for cutie and just kept running. until my ipod died. at which point i screamed out "FUCK!" just as loud as i could. because at the time i just knew i was all by myself, and i was angry about things that were happening that i couldn't directly control, and i just needed to express how pissed off i was. then just as i finished the last of the "CKUHHHHH..." another runner passed and just smiled. which i have always thought was a sign that everyone has those days! he just smirked and ran past. i feel like i need another day like that, where i am completely by myself and i just run. though maybe this time my ipod won't die!
so...northern virginia is seriously starting to really kill my spirit. i can feel myself a changed person. some parts for the best, but others not at all. it really bothers me the most when i notice the things that i really miss about how i was 2 years ago. i miss having a plethora of friends at my fingertips that wanted to do really cool things and learn about new things and share all the cool new things they learned about. i'm tired of feeling like i'm becoming more cynical and judgmental. maybe this is happening because i'm just getting old, but i feel like a majority of it comes from the atmosphere. i need a change.
barak obama help me- i need change!
