I thought I had it.
I thought I could make it through hell week.
I ran before I went to babysit Thursday night. It was great, light pain- but was feeling on track to getting through it. Then midnight hit and I was up for almost the rest of the night expelling everything I had eaten that evening. I don't know if it was food poisoning, a stomach bug, or the muscle relaxer I have been taking- whatever it was it hit me HARD.
Friday morning I took off from work, then struggled to go in at 1030, I knew I would need some time to adjust to my surroundings, so I met Jason in the cafe to transition to society again.
Not a good idea. I believe I last until 12:15 when coworkers rearranged their situations and the school secretary, Carol, drove me home. I slept then for almost 6 hours feeling like death. Then at 930 pm I made the decision that I was going to skip my run.
UGH- It was so hard. I was really upset. I had got 48 days of running at least one mile. Past any amount of time I had done or even dreamt of doing before. I am really upset at the week. But, I did get past a lot of hard things.
Saturday woke up with a stitch, cut run short with Amanda.
Monday, sinus problem, felt the stitch even when walking around work, decided to take Tuesday off.
Tuesday was really bad. Went to doctor, she said it was just a sprained lower trunk muscle. Started period.
Wednesday went into work, took a nasty spill on my bike resulting in multiple deep bruises around my body.
Thursday took off from work. Slept most of the day, started to feel better until MIDNIGHT. see above.
Friday felt like DEATH. Came home at 12:15 and slept until 6pm.
Saturday- after waking up and doing a system check- Feeling 90% better!!! Stitch is at maybe a level 1-2 and everything else has resolved itself. Except for a nasty bruise on my right inside knee. But that will heal.
So I took today off from running too. Actually I have gone exactly 2 days from working out at all. Maybe I just needed a break, maybe my body sent a HUGE signal to STOP! To me. Or maybe I was just victim to a week of tragic unfortunate events.
Whatever. I didn't make 365, but tomorrow will be day 1 of round 2. I still have an 8k coming up and a 1/2 marathon in March. I made it 48 days. Now my goal is to make it to 50.
Good job MegAnne, 48 days is amazing. Not your first goal, but still a great accomplishment.
Also tonight someone said "Wow MegAnne, you're getting so thin." That made me feel really good. Seeing as today I woke up significantly under 200, but I think it was from a lack of food over the past 2 days. But I don't think i'll be seeing a 2 at the start of my weight every again. I have banished it.
Now I should be sleeping, but as I got home 45 min. ago I've had this post in my mind and just needed to get it out. I think because I let myself down. Then I struggled with not guilting myself. I made it 48 days. I fought as hard as I could. I made it as far as my body would let me. I put up a good fight. Round 2 will be mine!!!
5 favorite places to run.
- Jcc on my break on Friday's. Jason works then and it's nice to have him cheer me on.
- Vita Trail with Britney.
- Pony Pasture with Amanda
- Belle Isle
- any 1 mile exact route around my apartment. I think it's fun to find them.
